Let’s kick off this week by learning some really helpful Lightroom keyboard shortcuts. Strategically placed, you control where the viewer enters your image, how the viewer’s eye travels through the image and even direct the viewer to the most important elements within your photos. Here’s a quick 1-minute video from photographer, Photoshop wizard, and KelbyOne Instructor Gilmar Smith on how she uses Lightroom gradients in her portrait work. Back in October of 2017 the program once called Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC 2015 was rebranded as Lightroom Classic. At the same time Adobe reworked what was previously just a mobile app called Lightroom Mobile into its own “ecosystem” that was designed to function separately from Lightroom Classic (though the original connection between the apps remained), and they named it Lightroom (though for a short time it too was called Lightroom CC). No better way to put the dumpster fire that was 2020 behind you than updating your Copyright metadata in Lightroom to the new (and hopefully improved) year. So, here’s how and where you update it: STEP ONE: Go to the Library Module; go under the Metadata menu and choose “Edit Metadata Presets” as shown here (by the way — even if you don’t have a Copyright template in place, you can use this same menu to create one, so still choose Edit Metadata Presets to get started).
