    Found this caterpillar on a dead branch in our mulch and transported it to our garden for a more colorful background.
    f/11 is a low aperture when capturing macro images.
  • Judge's Critique: Image has a horizontal orientation and the subject’s face (for lack of a better word) is located in or near the upper right power point on a stick or twig that extends almost horizontally from the left side of the image, effectively dividing the image in half at the center. The subject seems to fill the frame laterally. The depth of field seems to extend from the front of the stick to the caterpillar’s antennae. There are areas of blown out tonalities on the stick and the caterpillar. The background is darker than the subject. Image does not have a noticeable vignette.
