  • Judge's Critique: Lakeside Solitude: Compositionally sound. It is acceptable for the horizon line to be center of the frame when there is balance and symmetry. Great way to break the rule of thirds. The image, however, is very soft. There are potentially many reasons for this. From a missed focus to processing errors. Zoom in to the person at the edge of the lake and you will notice some issues. The upper body is narrower than the lower portion of the body. There is also some inconsistencies with the reflection and reflections are darker than the area being reflected. Based on what I am seeing in the jpeg; good idea with bad execution.
