  • DESCRIPTION AND SETTINGS : I wanted to put this idea into a picture. I cut out all the little masks from paper or scraps of material my wife had. I wanted each one to have a unique patterned mask. I even drew teeth on a couple of the masks. I cut some thread pieces and placed them on the miniature masks so it looked like elastic bands holding the masks on the faces. I played around with various set ups and shot a total of 31 images. I ended up using the very first shot I took. I thought this was humorous and appropriate for the theme. I had fun creating this image.
  • Judge's Critique: Interesting idea and statement. It seems to me this idea could be refined. Does the green background cloth and wrinkles add to the statement? I don’t think it does. Could the bills be arranged differently or maybe be photographed on a different background? Of course. Think Declaration of Independence or some other government document as a background. An interesting thing happened when I tried to open the image for a visual critique. I received this message from Photoshop:
