December Update for Lightroom Classic, Lightroom, and Camera Raw

The December update is out, and while not a major release, there are some things worth noting. We did gain support for new cameras and new lenses, and there were of course some bug fixes. You can access the update in the Adobe Application Manager (click Check for updates if you don’t see any). This is the first “dot” release for this version, bringing LrC up to 12.1, Lr up to 6.1, and ACR up to 15.1. The first upgraded feature to know about is directed at Canon shooters who use Macs with Apple Silicon chips. Shooting tethered is now supported natively for Canon, however you do still need to launch LrC using Rosetta before shooting tethered with Nikon. Adobe maintains...

How to Create AI Images: A Quick Tutorial

The post How to Create AI Images: A Quick Tutorial appeared first on Digital Photography School. It was authored by Darren Rowse. I’ve recently been creating AI images with Midjourney, and I’ve had some people push back on my work – so I thought maybe it’d be helpful to see the full process. My hope is that, after reading this article, you can see that working with AI to create images is not just about plugging in a few words and watching as the program spits out great photos. I’m sure not everyone will use Midjourney this way, but for what it’s worth, I’ve included step-by-step instructions for producing AI images, and I’ve also included example photos to show the approach...How to Create AI Images: A Quick Tutorial

We Review the Versatile TZM-02 Adapter From Techart

When Techart sent for review the TZM-02 Leica M to Nikon Z autofocus adapter, there was one small problem in that I couldn't source any Leica lenses for the review, only Canon EF. But the great thing about the adapter is that it can be stacked with additional adapters, allowing for versatility for a wide range of lenses, including the Canon EF mount. Armed with both adapters, I set about testing the capabilities of these on the Nikon Z 7II. [ Read More ]Original link(Originally posted by Gary McIntyre)

Rawsie Review: A Powerful, Storage-Saving Program

The post Rawsie Review: A Powerful, Storage-Saving Program appeared first on Digital Photography School. It was authored by Simon Ringsmuth. There is a longstanding trade-off in digital photography: If you want the freedom and flexibility of shooting in RAW, you have to contend with large, unwieldy file sizes that take up lots of space. A typical RAW file is often dozens of megabytes, which means that photographers who shoot in RAW need to spend more money on memory cards, not to mention storage space and backup plans. Of course, you can always use the much smaller JPEG file format instead, but the decreased file sizes generally aren’t worth the loss of editing flexibility. So if you want to save on storage...Rawsie review. Crescent moon Christmas ornament hanging on a tree.

Zhiyun Crane-M3 Combo Review

The post Zhiyun Crane-M3 Combo Review appeared first on Digital Photography School. It was authored by Sime. More often than not, it seems photographers become content creators, whether it’s just to document family or friends, or whether it’s something a little more intense, like filming a small video for a business for which you’re also creating photographs. It might even involve larger products where you’re doing multimedia, short films, and stills – the whole nine yards, so to speak! Those of us who started with stills photography and then added moving pictures to our arsenal will likely have that one memory where we simply put our camera into Video mode and tried to create an epic cinematic masterpiece, only for it...Zhiyun Crane-M3 Combo review
