Location: Death Valley National Park, California. “One of the highest dune fields in North America, it’s hard to describe the otherworldly feeling of the Eureka Valley Sand Dunes in winter twilight,” says Young. “It’s a very lengthy and sometimes icy single dirt road track from Furnace Creek to this remote location, with barely a soul around once you arrive.
